Sony Sell Their Tokyo Headquarters Is A Rumor

http://ownartical.blogspot.com/
Sony has been restructuring it’s organization, and recently announced the company is closing down 20 stores in the United States, and mentioned its going to lay off thousands of workers by the end of this year. Sony has made some moves in the recent months, and also sold their Vaio division.

According to a new report from WSJ, Sony is planning to sell off their headquarters in Central Tokoy in order to cut losses, citing a person familiar with the plan.

Sony is expected to continue with its selling spree, the company also sold its headquarters in Madison Avenue last year for a whopping $1.1 billion . The news was also reported by Nikkei, and mentioned Sony could net almost 15 billion yen (almost $146.5 million) on the sale of its headquarters in its home country.

The company seems to be struggling in the consumer electronics business and warned investors that they expect to incur a loss of a whopping $1.1 billion for the current fiscal year, and the proceeds obviously could help the company lower this figure.

Well, it’s not confirmed at the moment, but we’ll update you as soon as it’s confirmed. Sony has pushed up the game in the smartphone market with its Xperia lineup, with its latest Xperia Z2 to hit the market in April. Let’s hope the smartphone business can kick things off for the company.
